Breath of Fire

The Earth is more then a massive stone soaring through space, she is a living system that nourishes and protects us all. This has never been more apparent for me then when watching a nearly 500 meter cliff face slowly breathe in the morning light, then exhaling a torrent of flame that runs down the length of the cliff. After an hour of hiking in the dark, it was vibrant, dazzling, and beautiful. Within 10 minutes the stone returned to it’s normal color, but I’ll never forget the soul I felt in that weathered face.
