She was never the most clever, the fastest, brightest, or funniest. She read slowly; she learned slowly. Her jokes fell short and she stumbled in her speech. But her religion was love; her philosophy was compassion. Her thoughts gave her strength, her actions gave her power. Power to choose happiness, and spread it to the world.

These tales told the stories of the world, and connected every living being to a common home. When communities evolved… Read More
Travel West, Until you’ve found, Mountains in the sky, And horizon unbound. Where life rests by day, And wanders in night, A land unowned, Known no king or rite. Be cleansed in the river, That has no end, Just await the falcon, In the river’s bend.
It was the night that changed her. During the day, she was like anyone else, a cog in a machine, unthinking, unfeeling. Those were traits long forgotten, now deemed too dangerous. Every day she takes a bit of… Read More

The man left the privacy of his walls only to hunt, some days for food, others for boredom. He never felt bored before he built his sanctuary, but he was… Read More
I’ve been wanting to start cutting my own hair for a while. I wont have to spend money on the haircut, I’ll save time en route to the barber, I can compost my hair (it’s actually really a great source of nitrogen for your compost), but I’ll be the first to admit it’s a little intimidating. For one, there’s the challenge of seeing the back of your head (or your entire head… Read More
There’s something magical about the few moments before the sun begins it’s arc through the sky. When the earth around you remains black as night, but the horizon begins to glow. The sun marches on preceded by it’s retinue of lights, telling tales of yesterday, and destines of tomorrow.
The Earth is more then a massive stone soaring through space, she is a living system that nourishes and protects us all. This has never been more apparent for me then when watching a nearly 500 meter cliff face slowly breathe in the morning light, then exhaling a torrent of flame that runs down the length of the cliff. After an hour of hiking in the dark, it was vibrant, dazzling, and… Read More
